The 28th Annual Auction at Sevens Ale House Raises $22,870

On Thursday, July 15, 2010 John D. “Jack” Kiley, owner of the Sevens Ale House on Charles Street in Boston, presented a check for $22,870 to James F. Farr Academy, Inc.  In April, Kiley held the 28th annual charity auction to benefit three not-for-profit programs dedicated to children and young adults: Farr Academy, Agape Inn, and Brookline Infant and Toddler Center (BITC).

Kiley, a resident of Needham, presented the proceeds from the auction to Michael Culhane, Chief Executive Officer of James F. Farr Academy, Inc.  “Farr Academy is a small local school with specific needs – unlike the larger nationwide non-profits – so getting additional funding is challenging,” said Kiley.  “It is a pleasure to keep the auction going, year after year, thanks to our vendors’ auction item contributions and our community neighborhood support which are imperative to the success of the auction each year.”

This year the auction included 11 sets of Boston team tickets, restaurant gift certificates, getaway night and weekend vouchers, Cape Cod seven day vacation, service gift certificates, Farr Works pottery, theater tickets, cases of wine, gift baskets, and various specialty items.

For more information, please contact Melissa Fasten at (617) 492-4922.

Donations for the auction are accepted on a continual basis.  Anyone interested in donating items for next year’s auction, please contact Melissa Fasten at (617) 497-2620 X14 or mfasten@farracademy.org.  No item is too small!
